Farm Fresh Unprocessed Milk
(“Raw” milk)
Unless you have a milk cow in your backyard, herd shares are the legal way in Tennessee to get Fresh Unprocessed Milk the way it should be for your family!
Your own share of our dairy herd offers you many advantages that go beyond just drinking fresh milk!
You could skim your own cream for coffee or whipping, make your own cheese, butter … the possibilities are limited only by what you are willing to do.
Much information abounds on the health benefits of drinking “raw” milk.
We prefer to call it Fresh Unprocessed - because that more accurately reflects what it is.
It’s fresh.
And it isn’t processed at all.
Although raw milk is the best milk there is, it does come with inherent risks in the way of diseases that can transmit illness from cows to humans.
Because we believe in the massive health benefits of unprocessed milk, and to mitigate that risk, before entrance into our herd, ALL our cattle, including our beef herd, are tested for a long list of diseases.
(Since Frances is a veterinarian, she made us do it.)
We challenge you to find a cleaner herd of cattle. It will be hard to do. Ask your milk provider what they test their herd and milk for and the results. You may be surprised at what you find.

Prior to milking, our cows are meticulously cleaned and teats thoroughly disinfected prior to attaching a state of the art machine.
After milking the milk is filtered and poured directly into glass jars, then submerged in an ice water bath for the most rapid cooling, which equals the freshest taste.
It doesn’t get fresher than that unless the cow is in your own backyard!
Becoming part of a herd share isn’t the same as buying milk by the gallon. It requires a buy-in to the herd, and a monthly fee for the upkeep and labor of milking the cows.
One share equals approximately one gallon per week.
Since you own a share of the herd, you are entitled to a share of the milk. That means you share the farmer’s ups and downs regarding milk and the seasons.
Our milk shares are currently $70/mo with a $65 buy-in fee. Over the course of a full year, this equates to $16.16/week. (If you only commit to one month at a time, then the fee will be prorated over a standard of 4 weeks, which is $17.50/week.)
PLEASE NOTE: We do have multiple share discounts, so the per gallon price can get as low as $13.73 per gallon.
At the present time we are filling Shares for April 2024, and pickup on the farm is the only way to get milk.
